In the final year of the Ballets Russes project, the program Firebird and other legends features three works that were first performed in Australia by Colonel De Basil’s Ballets Russes in 1936: Les Sylphides, Petrouchka and The Firebird (in a new version, Firebird, by Graeme Murphy). This program is later filmed and beamed live to audiences in cinemas throughout Australia.
