Rudolf Nureyev, the explosive superstar recently defected from the Soviet Union, arrives in Sydney to join Erik Bruhn and recover from a minor injury sustained at The Royal Ballet. The company watches them take class with Sonia Arova. Kelvin Coe, then a corps de ballet member, said that Nureyev and Bruhn’s styles were “like fire and ice”.
