The State Theatre at the Victorian Arts Centre opens with Maina Gielgud’s new production of The Sleeping Beauty, with lavish traditional designs by Hugh Colman featuring pristine white and Mariinsky blue. Christine Walsh and newly-arrived ex-Royal Ballet principal David Ashmole dance the leading roles.
