Helpmann invites the revered British choreographer Frederick Ashton to perform with him in the Australian premiere of Ashton’s Cinderella. Despite Ashton’s fear of flying he travels to Australia – and they’re a riot as the Ugly Sisters (they danced the roles in the original production). Following the success of Cinderella, Ashton’s Façade is introduced into The Australian Ballet’s repertoire.
