The world premiere of Divergence, a fresh new one-act piece by Stanton Welch. With a headlong, irreverent take on classical forms (including tutus made of industrial mesh), the ballet quickly earns itself a place in the repertoire – and a Jim McFarlane photograph of dancer Justine Summers in that tutu becomes one of The Australian Ballet’s most enduring and popular images.
